Jaguar OBDII Port
Location and Infomation

The Jaguar X Type On-Board Diagnostics, or OBD, refers to the vehicle's self-diagnostic and reporting capability. Indication of a problem within the cars systems will be indicated with the MIL light of the instrument cluster illuminating when the car is in use.

Many OBD II compliment readers are available on the market and there are advantages and disadvantages to all, however be aware that all readers will not give the correct information of the fault displayed. All readers should provide you with the correct fault code (normally a letter followed by a four digit number. ) because many OBD II readers use the default OBD II lookup tables they will not interpret the Jaguar codes correctly. The Jaguar X Type has a number of Manufacturer specific MIL codes many of these codes can be looked up on our code database, along with the likely causes.
