Front Brake disc Replacement

Procedure

Removal

Assuming that you don't have access to a car lift:-
With the vehicle on a flat stable surface, apply the hand brake (emergency brake)and chock the rear wheels. Crack the wheel nuts (lug nuts) then Jack the car up at the front, place the axle stand(s) for security and then remove the road wheel.


Remove roadwheel

With the Front disc (Rotor) and Brake assembly exposed look at the rear of the caliper assembly and locate the brake pad sub assembly securing bolts.
Remove and retain the two 13mm securing bolts.

Remove brake piston assembly leaving the brake pad sub assembly and pads on the wheel.
Secure the piston assembly out of the way using a ty-wrap or similar.

Remove and retain the two 15mm securing bolts for the Brake pad sub-assembly.
Remove the sub-assembly, and place aside.

Using the copper hide tap the rear of the disc to release it from the wheel hub.

tap the rear of the disc to release.
